USAGE:
(1.) Значения многозначного глагола to get разграничиваются разными конструкциями: to get smth - доставать, получать; to get somewhere - добираться куда-либо; to have got smth - иметь что-либо/обладать чем-либо; to get + Adj - становиться: to get cold (dark) - становится холодно (темно)/холодать (темнеть); to get + Past Participle - стать, превратиться: to get arrested - быть арестованным, to get damaged - испортиться; to get smth done - иметь что-либо сделанным (другим человеком): to get one's hair cut - постричься. (2.) Глагол to get 1. обычно не употребляется в форме Passive. В этих случаях русский глагол "доставать" передается глаголом to obtain: Maps can be obtained at the Tourist office.
